Graduation Freind's Forever!!

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of that night in June
I didn't know much of love
But it came too soon
And there was me and you
And then we got real blue
Stay at home talking on the telephone
We'd get so excited, we'd get so scaredLaughing at ourselves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1] - As we go on
We rememberAll the times weHad together
And as our lives changeCome Whatever
We will still beFriends Forever
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So if we get the big jobs
And we make the big money
When we look back nowWill our jokes still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Will Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to flyAnd this is how it feels!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
La, la, la, la:
Yeah, yeah, yeah
La, la, la, la:
We will still be friends forever
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there?
Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly!!!!!

The Best Birthday In 4 Years of College!

So here I'm, finally posting my second blog.
After all there had to be some way to recollect today’s events. So two alternatives came to my mind.
The first option was to make a video of myself detailing my birthday in a soliloquy. The second and the more appealing alternative was to write a blog. After all this time of telling myself to write a blog and listning nikki (nikhil’s name coined be me) make comments on my Gtalk status message (Read My first blog…) I thought it’s the most opportune time to finally write my second blog.
I’ll keep it short and crisp this time. (Although it was long and delicious the last time I guess :) )
The events are given in order:
1. The Death knell is sounded – its 12:00 AM.
Batti Gul (My floor and Hostel Group) gives me no respite this time. The blows fall hard on me. I keep dancing as well. The dance and beating go well into the night until its 1:30 AM. It’s also Vaibhav Tyagi’s Birthday. Since my first year in college our birthday is celebrated together by Batti Gul. People outside of Batti Gul prefer to wish me later in the day for fear of getting beat up by Batti Gul.
2. We go to Apki Rasoi at 1:45. Today’s special is Dosa in Rasoi. This party is given to Batti Gul by Me and Vaibhav. We return from Apki Rasoi at around 2:45 AM.
3. All this time and through the day I kept getting calls and SMS’s from family and friends.
4. I finally succumb to sleep at 3:30 AM. I sleep with my face down; my body waist down was in deep pain.
5. I wake up at 8:40 AM after getting a series of calls from my family members. Exotics haven’t wished me uptill now. I wonder if they’ve forgotten my Birthday!
6. Went to Mandir at 10 AM with Vaibhav.
7. Went to academic and did some project work with Chetna and Pavit.
8. Came back to room. Had to work but couldn’t. Kept getting calls at short intervals.
9. Went to have lunch with Suvadra and Ruchika at 1:15 PM. Still no contact from Exoticians.
10. Came back to room. Fell sound asleep. Worked for an hour and then went to café at 6:15 PM to give B’day treat to Suvadra, Ruchika and Ana.
11. Came back at 7:15 PM. Worked on Project Report.
12. Biral had gone to Krishna Bakery in Shimla on his bullet to get 2 Birthday Cakes. He came back at 7:30 PM. Gave me and Vaibhav a surprise! We cut the cakes and the Batti Gul gobbled them up.
13. Received a call from Guppy at 8:30 PM. Told him that Exoticians still haven’t wished me.
14. Went to café again to give treat to Chetna and Pavit. Came back at 9:30. Saw Nikki entering Ankur’s room as I was entering mine.
15. At 10 PM a hand opened my room’s door slightly and then Kaka’s head floated in the little gap for a second. He switched off my room’s lights. Then Rishabh, Nikhil, Utkarsh and Ankur and Abhilash came in my room all at once singing Happy Bithday. They had lighted two candles. Rishabh had his Digi Cam with him and he kept taking snapshots like I do (in a frenzy!). They lifted me up. One or two at a time. They continued to sing Happy Birthday for an eternity. They threw me in the air. Kept taking snaps. Then I cut the pastries and everyone dig in. Nikki had to take revenge, so he took one pastry and smeared it in my face. Then there was no stopping him (although Rishabh tried to hold him back, verbally of course). It was ironical. He used all my toothpaste, cream etc. on me! Had he came at 12:00 AM the night before he wouldn’t have found any of those. But they had planned well. A surprise it was. He used moisturizer, toothpaste, powder, 2 shaving creams and many other things which I don’t know of to decorate my hair and face. He then went in a trance and transformed into a Hair Dresser. He kept changing my hairstyle and asked the others to take pictures. You can always find visual proof of the end results of his experiments in the Birthday Pictures.
They once again lighted up a pastry with matchstick. They sang birthday song and threw me in the air a few more times, and then I went to take my partial bath.
16. Finally they departed after leaving me with chocolates and some other goodies.
Some Noteworthy points:
1. Guppy had mistakenly blurted out to me that the Exoticians had not forgotten my Birthday and were upto something when I told him that they hadn’t wished me. Even after that I tried to convince myself that they had actually forgotten my Birthday so as to be surprised when they actually gave me that surprise. It did work to some extent. I do this when someone tells me the story of a movie or a novel. Eventually when I’m into the movie (or today’s Birthday Celebration ) I enjoy it and forget whatever someone had told me earlier.
2. I saw Ana getting pastries packed in café at 9 PM and doubted whether it was meant for me. But I ruled it out so as to enjoy the moment when it presents itself. I saw Kaka for a moment. But then he hid himself. And then I doubted whether it was him that I saw.
Finally in the last few minutes of my birthday (at 11:45 PM) I thanked Ana for being part of the Surprise Birthday Celebration Conspiracy. After all Caesar (Me) is happy in this case and is not dead! :)
I guess the blog isn't short after all.
But I can't help it.
Strictly I'm not a blogger; I'm a writer instead.
:)

Thank you guys for giving me such a wonderful and memorable Birthday Celebration to cherish for the time umpteenth.

MAKING OF A DRESS MAKER

Finally the second last semester is over or may it can be the last semester for us (due to infy) but no matter how, the countdown for us to passout from college has started.Since now we are on the edge of becoming an engineer but still we will carry out the spirit of a true exotician. We still celebrate the birthday with more enthusiasm as before and as a true exotician try to stand out for each other with more zeal. Since this is the last year and so is the last birthday which can take place in the college so we definitely want to have something special.This was actually the scenario we built on the birthday of JEDI. We celebrated the birthday not in the starting of the day , but at the end of the day and i am sure JEDI will be remebering his last birthday in the college over the years. Expect the Unexpected - "Murphy's Law" when you think now it is certainly over ,but actually it is not.We all came up with the surprise and when JEDI was least expecting us we showed our exotician presence.So now was the time of revenge and we started DRESSING THE DRESS MAKER.Here are some flicks which on their own describe the energy of the environment.

This is the spirit of Exoticians in the true form !!!

A Walk to Remember

Finally I am back … after a long long time finally i managed to find some time of my busy schedule to sit down and bring to u another enthralling fast paced full of drama real life ordeal …… don’t worry i wouldn’t be reciting any bollywood story here …..U must be wondering why i have titled this post as A walk to remember …. Well this kind of nostalgic sentence must have aroused many questions in ur mind , if it doesn’t then u really have to work on ur creativity…. The first answer that comes to my mind after reading something like this is quality time spent with someone special ….. don’t try to strain ur neurons and brain cell to much bcoz i know u don’t have much ,but no i wasn’t talking about “that” someone and u know who ,i don’t have to mention the name or the acronym again and again, but it was time spent with someone even more special and yes that will be me… Well this post is about one of the many excursions i have been on throughout my journey called life… A walk to remember is about my lone trip to Shimla…. Trip to Shimla what’s special in that , we have been to that place countless number of time so what was unique , well what was different that it was my first trip alone to the queen of hills , though i never liked that place much as i come from Uttarakhand the land of Nainital , Mussourie , Rishikesh ,Auli and many such countless shreds of heaven on earth but this time around i really fell for the queen ….. Those who know me knows how much i love spending time with the person inside me , so getting the chance to have an entire day with someone u love so much and that to in such serene surrounding is really God’s grace… Though the purpose of my journey was not fulfilled even by 1% as u all know but it was a day well spent and thoroughly enjoyed ….. i don’t want to bore u again by describing my entire trip as most of you r already aware of that but i want to share one instance or that one moment when i was completely lost for word or adjectives for describing the beauty of nature as i was encountered by not one but two miracles of this mother nature… this was the time when i was leaving the movie hall after watching the latest blockbuster 2012, the talking point of the town at present for not only its special effects but also the subject it is based on … so naturally everyone was talking about the great effects and plot of the movie but as always i was lost in my own world merrily singing my way through the crowd when suddenly i stopped dead…… there in front of me was two marvels of nature and that to at the same place and at the same time…… one was ofcourse the cold weather with clouds flying around me and birds whizzing past my ears and the other was this girl………… i don’t know who she was or where she came from but at that time it felt heaven is not far….. she was so simple yet so extraordinary that even after trying hard not to stare i was gazing spell bound and dumbstruck in her direction trying hard to bring my mind back to reality and concentrate on my little wonder here ( bachchi ) but i was helpless ….. dressed in a salwar kurta she was exudating freshness and radiating like a star in a cloudless dark night…… i really felt that 2012 was taking its toll on me and was wondering whether time has really flown by and i am in 2012 bcoz world came for a standstill for me at that very moment …….it was simply unbelievable …… but very shortly i was brought back to earth as crowd pushed me from the back into the corner and when i turned she was gone …. It felt i was virtually thrown out from the heaven after a small visit to the fairyland…… but never mind this has been the story throughout my life but really this time around the Queen of Hills made me fall in love with her for more than one reason :) .

Little things do make a difference!!!

There is a story of a little girl who was on the beach one day after the tide had rolled out. On this beach hundreds of fish washed up on the

shore. The little girl was picking them up one at a time and throwing them back in, when a man approached her saying, little girl, you can’t make a difference for there are thousands on the beach. She looked at him as she threw another one in and said it made a difference to that one.

The Bible says: "Unless you are honest in small matters, you won’t be in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities." Most of us tend to think it’s big things that make a big difference, but when we trace the sequence of events in our day-to-day life, we will find that eventually what leads to that big opportunity is the result of a lot of little things being done. If we look at all the little things that we did, we will see the invisible train that leads to our big breaks. A journey of thousand miles begins with one step, including downwards treks.

Sound mind in a sound body. We may earn good grades in our studies but at the same time if we do not take care of our health and our mental well-being, all is futile. We need to manage our time in such a way that we find time for exercise, that we eat at the right time and that we get sufficient sleep. All this daily routine looks small but if not followed, the consequences could be colossal.

Peter F Drucker, the management guru, says: “Man’s most perishable resource is time and unless it is managed nothing else can be managed. Each minute is a little thing and yet, with respect to our personal productivity to manage, the minute is the secret of success.”

How do we maintain our relationship with our friends, our parents? Do we take time to remember some of the simple courtesies that are so important in our effort to build personal regard and graciousness in relationship with others? Do we remember the smile, the compliment, the positive note and the word of encouragement?

We should do these important little things without reserve. They should be a part of our everyday manner as we groom ourselves socially in the critical young-adult years. One quality of character most needed in this world is compassion for other people. One of the urgent lessons of life is to learn how to deal with imperfections in ourselves and in others. And if we are not altogether pleased with us, it should be easy to understand why we are not altogether pleased with others.

KASAULI TRIP @ 27-9-09

hello friends......i am back again....this time with another exciting feature about this whole "EXOTIC FAMILY".Again i am leting krrish and rishabh to take up all the serious matter coz they are better in it and i wud again be taking a lighter topic only....:)

--------------KASAULI TRIP--------------------

well, the day-27-9-09, after a lot of discussions, we decided to go to kasauli. Kasauli- "awesome scenic beauty". The enthusaism for this trip was at its peak. although we were 5 but the power was of 50.........lolz

BEGINNING-
After a long wait for the arrival of any means of going to waknaghat, we were still thinking how 2 reach there and suddenly, we saw a "pickup" of moksh and without wasting a single moment, jumped in it. What a ride, i mean it was really amazing, the cool wind blowing was so refreshing.And 10 mins we were at wakna.

Now,started the intersting part, after reaching solan, we took a local bus to kasauli and to my surprise, wat a bus it was.....really, jam-packed bus, how does the govt allow these people to overload!! i could write a whole para on the situation at that time but....lets continue wid the gud part....so with niks and utkkrush sitting with you, there's not a single moment without laughter....Utkkrush started selling tickets like a conductor with hos out of the world dialogues.....i sometimes think.....how does he get such kind of innovation.......now talking about niks or "piggu", his new name.....for more details, refer orkut........:)

well i remember, the whole vegetable stuff that was there in it, and also niks putting the pieces in our t-shirts again n again.......kaka n rishabh busy in listenin music and so was i.

finally, we reached Kasauli, and as u can see.....there's load of things to explore.....so we started our voyage......

first of all went to the church.......and there was someone siting on a bench(secret).....;)
well i wont be disclosing ne secrets......but u 4 know of ehom i m talikng...right......

Now, we decided to go to the Upper mall first, the motivation being- SUNSET POINT and LOVERS POINT.......nice part being that we walked throughout....and enjoyed each n every point......what to say...u can see these pic and imagine the feeling.......

Now, we moved towards our 2nd destination that was through lower mall....MANKI POINT.....they dont allow ne electronic gadge there.....so no pics,....:(
but the hanuman temple at that point was really nice dats why d name.....
enjoyed a lot there.........now returned and again the same experience of bus...mockry was that the locals are so used to these situation that were really enjoyin......while i was expressionless....
finally reached solan......it was about 6.30 pm.......went to cafe7, had our dinner......and finally returned back to college........
but....the important point to be noted........" These were the priceless moments for us all.....it was a both fun and adventurous trip......and wid frnds like niks, utti, koka and rishabh.....it added to the flavour....though we missed remaining exotians,,,but still enjoyed......."

---------------The End---------------------------

Express for ecstasy!!

Humans are social animals. No matter how fast the technology advances, giving us the facility to drop a line to other humans through our terminals to every nook and cranny of this planet, we will always require corporeal meetings.

Not only we require it, but we love it as well. We love to be with friends, to be in social jamborees, and to attend marriages. A joke cracked by a friend at a haunt is gazillion times better than the “best joke of the year” read over the web.

But as much as it is fun, it is challenge as well. To speak in public is not everyone’s cup of tea. Every one of us has felt these jitters. It’s an uphill undertaking to stand on the stage and speak in front of a teeming gathering. Neither is it easy to speak your heart out to your beloved.

If you talk to a professional, he will tell you dozens of tricks to overcome your problem of anxiety while in public. There are hundreds of books written on the same subject. All tell you the laws to abide by in case of such fretfulness.

But, I believe in incentives. Laws are always broken down. People don’t like to follow laws. If you want to make somebody do something, tell him the paybacks. Make him fall in love with the thing.

In case of public expressions the payback is the euphoria that one enjoys, the euphoria of taming your fear, the euphoria of pulling off inattention. You truly stop caring what other opinionate about you and you just listen to your heart, because, only now, you can. Now you have got inclusive control over your senses. They behave the way you demand, impervious of exogenous agents.

Above all, it increases your reach in the society, it makes you more social, and it makes you more human.

The power of assumption!!

This is where I study and subsist.

And this is what we are drinking these days.

This place is called Jaypee University of Information Technology. As the name suggests, it is a University for technical education. I am a hostler, which means that I have preferred mess food, hostel rooms and bathrooms and college internet connection over paranthas and Chickens, PG rooms with attached bathrooms and “24*7” internet connectivity.

I have never calculated my IQ but my intuition and experience tells me that it’s fairly high. To cut a long story short, I am certainly a human being with above average intelligence (The average word is a bit ambiguous and misleading in nature. While talking average, it is very important to note that what the samples whose average was taken were. In my case the samples were hand-picked from NASA Research and Mathematics department. ), and thus there is certainly a very strong and cogent rationale behind my preference.

My decision serves me well almost the entire year barring the time when there are heavy spells of rain. During heavy showers the rains bring a lot of silt along with them, and that silt gets mixed with water flowing in the rivulets amidst the hills. These rivulets are the principal founts of water to our university and nearby villages. The filters fail to filter the silt, which most of the times is very fine, and hence muddy water gushes through them.

Now, you may say, that why I did not see it coming instead of my astuteness. Why did I not opt for a quibble free option? The answer is simple! There was no such option available.

But, even if it had been available, I would have not opted for it, because then I would have overlooked the power of assumption.

Confused? – Let me explain!!

This whole incident has made me realize that assumption is the most potent, insidious and ubiquitous belief on this planet. Had it not been assumption, life would have been insipid. After all, the water that you see on the screen is nothing but a quintessence of reverberations of assumption. Assumption made the colorless water colorful.

More confused? – Let me explain further!!

It all started, when our founders assumed that there is plenty of water around, and hence decided against water harvesting. It rains here in profusion, but we can’t harvest rain water.

Then, they assumed that a conventional filter plant would work fine in these conditions, undermining the convolutions of mountainous topography.

They further assumed that conventional water purifiers will do the trick here, too. The supposedly decontaminated water does not even suit bathing purpose. Look at the picture for further vindication.

Even our parent assumed the exorbitant fees as a reassurance for at least basic necessities. Itnaa Paisa liya hai – Pani to peene layak aata hi hoga!

And on the top of that, the managing committee is perhaps assuming that this mess will fix itself. It’s been three years, and the status quo is still maintained.

It’s ironical, how these assumptions which scientists and mathematicians use to simplify complex problems have actually complicated things here. However, assumption itself is insufficient to describe this behavior. It is an intelligent and fancy word euphemistically used for shying away from responsibilities.

It becomes even more perilous when people start turning their blind eyes to grave issues which could decide the fate of humanity. Water crisis isn’t a pity parochial issue of our college. It’s pervasive. It’s omnipresent and so is the penchant to assume. We assume that water crisis will not affect us. Water harvesting measures are assumed as profligacy. Nobody wants to accept the reality, nobody wants to fight. It’s not about foreseeing anymore, now it is just about seeing – and acting.

GOD Who????

GOD Who?????

This statement might have aroused many questions in your mind .... well it definitely forces me to think twice about that someone who we call Almighty. This question or uncertainty had been a cause of debate for time immemorial. People worship God all around the globe in different forms and figures but still go on preaching about the oneness of God. I found all this highly amusing and mirthful.

They say God is in everyone of us, so why go and worship in the temples , mosques , churches and the gurudwaras , I say go and worship yourself and worship each and every living soul around you. Another famous saying goes like God is with those who are good and who does good , well I think it is all crap .. When I see around me and look at the people who are really suffering and enduring pain I really can’t find a single face who truly deserved to be punished or castigated and then I look at those people who really should have been in this situation but ironically those are the ones who are responsible for inflicting all this misery and wretchedness . Not only that they have managed to finagle out of this mess but guess what they have got every resource needed to enjoy the most beautiful gift of God i.e. life … So whose side is  God really on …. And still people talk about faith and believe and God and bla bla bla…….

Let me ask a very simple question to each and every single person out there who truly believe in God or have full faith over that special someone who is looking after all of us …… Have you seen God ???? When in today’s materialistic world when men is not even ready to believe in something he witness by his own eyes then how can one blindly follow something or someone whom you or nobody else have ever seen.. Really astonishing & stupefying to me……

Call me atheist or whatever but I have had experiences when my faith and trust was really badly dented & that I was time and again forced to ask this question “ GOD who ?? ” I once asked this question to someone very wise and experienced and rather than freaking out as most people do whenever I put my this particular query forward , she very gently told me that there is some power who is controlling and monitoring the smooth functioning of this panoptic and gigantic universe , and that power we know and worship as God …. Interesting isn’t it … Till date I have found that as the most reasonable and thought out answer …… But still I believe in having faith and belief in yourself or the people whom you can really trust rather than  blindly following someone and leaving everything to the faith …. Because GOD is in you so don’t go searching and wandering around because whatever you are looking for is right there where you haven’t cared to look even once………

Regards

Movies

It all started when Eadweard Muybridge under the sponsorship of Leland Stanford successfully filmed a horse named “Sallie Gardner”. That was nineteenth century and the year was 1878. The entertainment industry was on the cusp between live entertainment and recorded entertainment. In retrospect, one realizes that this minuscule event changed the course of drama centric entertainment.

Today, movies are the most congenial and preferred source of entertainment. I have got many friends who get cerebral paralysis, when are asked to conjecture anything except celluloid for entertainment. I often doubt that, perhaps, they are not cognitively evolved to think in any other direction. Their stereotypical, run of the mill idea of fun is certainly nauseating, but, more than that, it is thought provoking! It perhaps, manifests the alarming penetration of movies in our routine life.

Since our generation is abounding filmy freaks, the entertainment industry is leaving no stone unturned to make the most of this development by providing endless procurement of money making objects, euphemistically called as movies. The upsetting part of the story is that all kind of feature films cost the same to the end consumer. With bad movies significantly outnumbering the good movies, the end result is a pool of cinema epitomizing a lethal conundrum.

But, unfortunately this confusion is not palpable to many of us. We are quite pleased with our disparaging skills and deem ourselves intelligent enough to steer us out of this pool of anarchy. The truth is that, however, most of the times we fall for these ruses and end up with disappointments.

But, look at the brighter side! This clearly proves that we are a sanguine race. Even after watching some thousand self proclaimed comedies with few imbecile characters repeating the same godforsaken idiocies, our families fall for these cons masqueraded as family movies. Just some smart repackaging is enough to revitalize their enthusiasm and provoke them to go for the new bait.

Our love buds watch every damn love story hoping to learn tricks and trades of this arena.

The last trick learnt from the last movie fell flat on its face. The last movie was bullshit, the director knew nothing, but this movie seems very promising.

The DevDs hope to find the glimpse of their wretched and battered life in the movie. Movie after movie, weeks after week, they keep going to the same hall, same misplaced corner settle, anticipating unearthing the answer of “why she left?”

Oh Dear! If you take 13 movies to find one plain answer, any girl will leave you. It is your IQ, poor boy! And not only that girl, even, the director of the movie that, you are watching, knows it.

This is what the true problem is; the consumer doesn’t understand the game of which he is a part. If we think a little hard, we will realize that we were always fighting a lost battle. There is no way, one can figure out whether to watch a movie or not sans watching it. You can take reviews, but like often-said, every individual is different and thus one review doesn’t suit all. You may like a movie which your friend loathes.

Nonetheless, in this despondent and hopeless movie world, I see at least few shafts of light and those are the classics.

Every one of us has watched some cinema which we will remember forever, which left a mark on our heart and brain, and which transformed us. Have you ever wondered, what made that movie extraordinary? Why its impact was so emphatic that, a part of your persona still reflects it?

I presume that it’s the connection of the movie and the viewer.How well it connects and what effect does that connection bring.

If a feature film is able to grip the attention of the viewer for its entire length, then it is a good entertainer but, only if, it can impel you to consider about something that you have never deliberated, or if it can make you feel some emotion in a brighter and stronger manner, or if it can tinker your accepted wisdom and can take it to some unseen planet of thoughts, then the movie actually stands apart and becomes a classic.

If you have seen the recent masterpieces by Indian film industry like Taare Zameen Par and Rang De Basanti, you perhaps will better appreciate, what I am trying to put into words.

Feel it!!

The past few days have witnessed many friends of mine, entering into the blogosphere. Something, that, I always wanted them to do. In my reckoning, blogging is a radical concept and is immensely powerful. It’s more or less impossible in today’s shady world to get such a leveled field to test your skills.

However, that’s a different story and I’ll love to talk about it sometime later. For now, I have got some new blogs to catch up.

To my astonishment, some of them have already started making waves by instigating some engrossing and grueling debates. One such debate is about the views expressed by Amartya Sen in an interview to Outlook.

He says

How peculiar it is that someone as non-violent as Gandhiji, who was very inspired by the Gita, was on the side of Krishna, who is making Arjuna fight a war and kill people, when Arjuna is saying maybe I shouldn’t kill!

The debate is on at nakul’s blog. But, what dazzles me is the greatness of the epic. In my view it’s too fascinating to be a real story.This epic is either a truly outstanding, flawlessly thought and immaculately inked piece of fiction or it’s arguably the best piece of historical text ever known to humans.An epic authored before Christ, some two thousand years back.

In any of the case it’s highly improbable that the Mahabharata we read today is the original version of the Mahabharata written or conceived two thousand years back (Two thousand years are sufficient to alter any text.).

Even if it is, then also, there is a fair amount of possibility that it’s suffering from some kind of narrative error or at some hapless point the author could have failed to unerringly ink, what he conceived.

The point that I want to make is, while reading such revolutionary and enormously impactful but primeval epics one must not go fact by fact, rather, one should try to comprehend the soul of the text. His endeavor must be to read between the lines.

This text is like a profoundly researched case study on life.There is no doubt about the fact that the text aimed to teach humanity, benevolence and compassion in large and the impact of this text has been felt everywhere across the globe.

Perhaps human history has never ever witnessed a literary piece that has affected so many lives and I am certain that in all probability it will shape many more lives in the years to come.

It’s an incredibly astonishing story which has taught the human kind the most fundamental lessons of humanity in the most enthralling fashion. Even after this mammoth time since it’s creation, it has not lost its old charm and continues to beckon, regale and educate one and all about the most seminal issues of integrity and righteousness.We owe a lot to this remarkable epic.

P.S. :- Here is how Gurcharan Das unravels some modern-day mysteries through Mahabharata.

An eye for eye!!

Lately, the English contingent turned its back on the World Badminton Championship and returned home citing security reasons. Earlier this year Australia withdrew from Davis Cup for the same reasons.

Now instead of learning from our mistakes and ameliorating the security, some of us are advocating for a global agency examining sport security issues. These people reckon that all of a sudden the Australians and English have turned racist and thus feel that these decisions are racially provoked.

Perhaps, there allegation is just but certainly the solution that they propose is not only run of the mill but outrageously quixotic. Moreover I sincerely fail to see any problem. These people who are propagating this nonsense idea are projecting it as an issue of national pride. The only problem that I see is of cardinal dearth of common sense in some of us.

National pride is a very emotional issue and cannot be debated but we cannot attach every second thing with our national pride. This way we will end up isolating ourselves with the rest of the world and this may culminate in obliteration of the very reason of our pride, our nation.

If we think pragmatically, we lose nothing when some nation backs out from a tournament. Let me elaborate why?

There could be only two reasons behind this, either the players really found the security wanting or they are racist or biased, they loathe our country and want to disdain us.

In the first case, they have all the right to back out and we have all the need to improve and introspect while in the second case, I just don’t understand why we are so hell bent on playing with few individuals who don’t revere us and our nation.

For a moment, let us assume that there is an international body looking after these matters and the body adjudicates against us. What will then happen to our national pride? Who takes the responsibility that the body will be totally efficient and unbiased? I don’t remember many international bodies taking decisions in favor of India or the other poorer nations for that matter for reasons very palpable. And I just cannot imagine the amount of controversy it will cause when the guest nation refuses to comply with it.

This can happen with us too. We all know how paranoid we turn when it comes to well-being of our stars. We did refuse going to Pakistan citing security reasons.

These kind of bizarre suggestions only turn matters worse. These agencies, if anything will complicate the matters. We must realize that going fanatical about a decision taken by a body which doesn’t represent even a fraction of the nation’s population will fan the flames of the state of affairs gratuitously. Instead of getting fanatical on this issue and taking irrational decisions we must harness our vigor to fortify ourselves and pick up our game.

Gandhiji once said- “An eye for eye makes the whole world blind.”

The Egg Curry!!

Here they go,

The hero of this poem and his pals;

Communicator pings and the intelligence hints,

EGG CURRY in the menu with few gorgeous gals;

Bang goes the door,

Hullabaloo on the floor;

A march to the mess,

Men are valiant, they are fearless;

Eyes lit, chests overblown,

Heads high and the destination higher;

He climbs, they gasp, huff and pant,

He sings, they rant;

Here they arrive,

On the mall, ending the toil after the turmoil;

Riding on a cloud, envied by the crowd;

In a hurry, to gobble EGG CURRY;

Here it comes,

The hope,

With the pedigree of getting splintered

And the propensity of recuperating unhindered;

Here it goes,

The hopeful but hapless spoon in the haggard hand,

In the curry, plunging and exploring

Alas! A spoon is spoon, no magic wand;

And here it comes,

The reminiscent of the great Shakespeare,

A curry in the mess

by any other name

Would be equally eggless;
