Wake Up !!!!!
There's nowhere you can be that
isn't where you're meant to be, lines by John Lenon. I was walking on the road
and saw one banana vendor eating his product meant to be sold to others. His
age was approximately 70 years if not more. What makes it little more
perplexing was an equally aged person coming out of Mercedes Benz with his grandson,
in lavishing suit, wearing Rolex watch, sun glasses and couple of gold ornaments?
He was blessed with a son and a steaming hot daughter in law. Now the crude
comparison starts. Two set of people with same age, same life experience.
However, one was showered with all the luxuries of life while another was left
to face the brazen realities of life.
The feature of the above mentioned
observation is that what that affluent old man did that the earlier vendor
could not do? What made him to still work at such an old age? How can someone
be coerced to do such a dead end job with no future? There are numerous
questions that went across my mind the same very moment. They made me to
contemplate about THE DESTINY. We can’t be there where we aren’t meant to be.
Now this triggered the series of thoughts in my mind. Is it really destiny?
Does god makes those decisions sitting up there, relieving himself from the
heavy duties of busy schedule to create people or may be some another world, or taking a
break from some cabaret dance.
It is not in the stars to hold
our destiny but in ourselves – William Shakespeare. Since I have been in
Infosys and hearing about NRN a lot, didn’t he faced any problem when he meant
to start another company. Did Manmohan Singh ever think of being a man of
reforms when he took as a finance minister? Ratan Tata quit IBM to join Tata
Group. He became legend of modern times after managing or should I say
successfully managing THE BIGGEST group from India.
Hey you will be thinking that I
will be posing a question that what was exclusive, distinctive about them.
However, I again have to break it up and ask you about what is so common about
them. If you haven’t conjectured till now, is that they woke up at correct time
in their lives. Aaah! Not in the morning Mr Alarm clock, what I meant was that
they took the correct decision at the decisive time of their lives. They were
not reluctant, not hesitant and definitely not procrastination things in due
course of life. Apart from these they did not blame anybody for their decision
and subsequent consequences.
So they did not enjoy the life?
Well if I would have been at their place then nothing would have been more
enjoying than the success itself. In spite of dreaming they made their dreams a
reality. They lived their dreams. Dreams that will never haunt them as a
nightmare. Instead Of flaunting their expertise they made people to praise
their exhibition of success.
