Earth’s Heaven

Earth’s Heaven

Well Well!!!! Reading heaven and Kashmir it is, all over the place. Yes Kashmir is place which is known as heaven mainly because of ascetic beauty, its garrulous mountains, picturesque sceneries and what not. I may be short of words while describing this wonderful, stupendous, embellished piece of work elicited by nature. I am already enthralled by writing just two lines about it. The cold breeze, narrow roads cutting down the mountains, difficult terrains, step farming, fog, alas I am crazy about it. However, in spite of my alacrity of mentioning Kashmir and its enticing and mesmerizing beauty I will stick to what I meant to write in this blog. Astonished! Yes this blog does not pertain to romantic state Kashmir. Axiomatically, there is one more heaven on this earth and that is Infosys Mysore.
Hold on; don’t feel ennui by just the mention of a tech freak company. Yeah sure, the achievements and the work culture is what I can blabber and praise my whole life but here I am describing the epicurean of beauty- Infosys Mysore. I still recall my days when I got my first placement in this esteemed organization. Everybody was excited and I was no exception to it. The inevitable day came and we flown to city of Wodeyar dynasty Mysore. By the time we reached the campus it was dark or should I say fortunately it was dark. As soon as we entered this exemplary campus, we were all stunned. It felt like a five star hotel in the lap of nature. This canvass of nature was full of natural beauty. The first building that blinded our eyes was GEC2. It was an unprecedented building that took our breath away. With our mouth wide open we kept staring at the sculpture illuminated with lights and circumvented by the well maintained and minuscule parks. Not to mention the musical fountain that we got to hear the very same day. That tranquilizing, assiduous music at that particular juncture satisfied our ferment and insatiable souls.
Going forward, what we saw was even more mellifluous and adorned. Yup, you all conjectured it with perfect accuracy - The Multiplex and ECC building. I have been to many multiplexes and so do you. And I can bet anything to what I saw was nothing less than a wonder to me. A round shaped multiplex with pointed tips. I could not decipher the concept of building such architecture and the conundrum further increased when I saw one of the sdb’s with somewhat same architecture. Loyal world, rock climbing, swimming pool, book shops, tennis grounds, bowling alley etc etc all these were breathtaking.
I always felt that the challenge was not to build these buildings but to maintain with 100% dedication. The challenges are not the huge number of people using these facilities but people using them are naïve and rookie. They inadvertently may do something which can prove costly. And hence full marks to the staff there.
Moving ahead was the large bunch of trees and amidst them were a couple of benches and a board with “smoking zone” written on it. Coming from a college environment where people smokes but not with permission; it gave everyone (at least smokers) some soothing effect. Everybody knew that they don’t need to hide anymore and we could all appreciate the permission to step into world which considered us more responsible and sustainable in this new arena.
The roads built there were outstanding. They were completely black in color and when I say black it means dark black. (Later on we saw the maintenance staff washing the road with some giant brush). There were plants along the roadside and the mild air blowing gently took away all the tiredness we had. It was the place where you can allow the wind to pass by you and take away all the sorrows, worries, laziness and tiredness. It always sparkled me with new energy and enthusiasm. It was a 30 min walk from my room to the class and I enjoyed every bit of it.
